Bookstein studied sculpture at the University of Oregon, (BA Fine & Applied Arts, 1995) under Paul Buckner and Laura Alpert, and in New York City with Barney Hodes, Arslan and Anthony Antonios. Bookstein sculpts from live models at the Art Student's League of New York.
